Welcome to The Missouri River Irish Fest! Win A Trip To Ireland!!
The Missouri River Irish Fest (formerly known as Fáilte St. Charles) is produced by the Irish Chapter of the St. Charles Sister Cities Programs. The Sister Cities Programs have had an active exchange with Ludwigsburg, Germany for over 10 years and is currently seeking a sister city in Ireland and France. The festival is held the 3rd weekend of September as a sort of “Half way to St. Patrick’s Day” celebration. This year we will be celebrating our 4th annual event on September 19th, 20th and 21st. Entertainment includes a main stage and a session stage with continuous events throughout the day, such as music, dance, and storytelling. WIN A TRIP TO IRELAND! We are offering a raffle to win a trip to Ireland. The trip is for the week of St. Patrick’s Day 2009, round trip airfare and lodging for two, however the home accommodates six. The raffle tickets are $50 with only 350 tickets being sold! The drawing will be held on Sunday, September 21st. Please feel free to contact us if you require more information. Checks made payable to: St. Charles Sister Cities P.O. Box 1692 St. Charles, MO 63302 and we will send you your stub. Tickets may also be purchased at the festival.
Other areas will also be set up for activities: Tir na nÓg (Land of the Ever Young - our Children's Area), the Irish Cultural Exposition, athletics, a genealogy section, and a Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament.
Throughout the weekend in the park, there will be several animal rescue groups to visit. See the Tir na nÓg page for more information and times.
This year we kick off Friday night with Mother Grove on the main stage. Be sure to come back Saturday evening to hear The Elders who earned the Celtic Rock album of the year award. In addition to entertainment and activities, a number of vendors will be selling Irish gifts and accessories, food, and drink. For a list of vendors, see the vendors page.
